Mr. Ellis George ""Junior"" Sanders Jr., 82, true to his nature, fought to the very end but finally succumbed to the final unyielding battle Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born August 24, 1927 in Franklin, NC to the late Ellis G. Sanders and Parlee Phillips Sanders. Preceding him in transitional destiny, in addition to his parents, were his wonderful wife of 55 years, Frances ""L.E."" Murphy Sanders; a brother, J.C. Sanders and two sisters, Maybelle Hopkins and Katherine Tilley. Those left to cherish his profound life influences and memories are two daughters, Suella Webster of Winston-Salem, Diana Cox and husband Norris of Dobson, a son, Larry J. Sanders and wife Pamela of Dobson, two granddaughters, Tracey Cox and Jennifer Huffman, five grandsons, Todd Webster and wife Melinda, Brad Sanders, Tim Cox and wife Melinda, Tony Cox and wife Kristy, and Kelly Sanders; five great-grandchildren, Nikolas Webster, Schae Cox, Noah Cox, Mason Cox and Mikah Webster, one sister, Dorothy Harrell of Brooksville, FL and two brothers, James ""Jim"" Sanders and wife Debbie of Advance and Eugene ""Gene"" Sanders and wife Angie of Winston-Salem. Funeral services for Mr. Sanders will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Rev. Glen O. Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends from 6-8 this evening June 29, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Denise Laurienti , Dr. Timothy Dalton, Oak Forest Health & Rehabilitation and Forsyth Medical Center. Their care, compassion and professionalism are most certainly appreciated and admired.
