Ellen Gail Whitlock

Ellen Gail Whitlock, 61, passed away on July 27, 2022, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on December 12, 1960, to Carolyn Coley Whitlock and Hoy Julius Whitlock in Mecklenburg County. Gail enjoyed helping others, especially in her work with Easter Seals. She delighted in the outdoors; hiking and running; and participated in the Chicago Marathon. Gail loved animals. She had a radiant smile. She was just the most amazing person and so very loved. In addition to her father, Gail was preceded in death by her brother, Leslie Paul Whitlock; and her stepfather, James G. Metrakos. Surviving are her loving mother, Carolyn Metrakos; her cousins; and many special friends including Carol Arrington, Robin Spainhour, and Rhonda Coley. The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 PM, Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
