Ellen Bushby Scott

KERNERSVILLE - Mrs. Ellen Bushby Scott was called home to be with our Lord on June 9, 2012, at the age of 64, after a sudden illness. She was surrounded by her family who lifted her off to Jesus. Ellen was born on July 3, 1947 in Southern Pines, NC to the late William Edward and Jane Morrison Bushby. She was a devoted member of Bunker Hill UMC where she served as President of the UMW. Ellen was recognized and awarded for her service as a dedicated nurse for 43 years. She was employed by Evonik Stockhausen, Inc. Ellen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her sweet smile, caring spirit, love and warmth will be forever missed. Surviving are her husband, Joseph 'Michael' Scott, of the home; her sons, Peter Scott (wife, Karen) of Clemmons, and Jason Scott (wife, Heather) of Greensboro; her grandchildren, whom she adored, Jacob E. Scott, Jake W. Scott, Julia R. Scott, Chris J. Vestal, Ryan C. Vestal and Sam G. Vestal; one brother, Eddie Bushby (wife, Anne) of Greenville and their daughter, Michelle; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Bunker Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. David Rorie officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
