Mrs. Ellen Holt Christopher Livengood, 87, passed away August 1, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born November 28, 1926 in Guilford County to the Late William Arthur Christopher and Janie Ivey Christopher. She was a member of Home Moravian Church and was treasurer of her Sunday School class and a Circle Leader. During World War II, Mrs. Livengood was a civilian who worked as a supervisor in charge of deployment for U.S. soldiers at Fort Belvoir, VA. Later she worked at Western Electric, and subsequently managed Jordan's Vacum Center and also worked for a CPA firm. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Livengood and two step-sons, Ronnie Joe Livengood and Charlie Franklin Livengood. Mrs. Livengood is survived by her sister, Maxine Duke; a daughter, Billie R. Livingston and husband David; a granddaughter, Angela D. Gamble and husband Bryan; a grandson, Sammy Lee Livengood; five great-grandchildren, Christopher N. Gamble, Laura M. Gamble, Sammy Livengood, Justin Livengood and wife Savannah, and Eric Livengood; a grandson of the heart, Cody and wife Ashley. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, August August 5, 2014 at Home Moravian Church with the Rev. Richard L. Sides and the Rev. Virginia Tobiassen officiating. Burial will follow in God's Acre at Salem Moravian Graveyard. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Monday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
