Mrs. Ellen Gay McKee Keegan, 83, of Winston-Salem, passed away on April 20, 2016 at Trinity Glen nursing facility. Ellen was born on October 31, 1932 in Okmulgee Oklahoma to Loy Louis McKee and Mary Catherine Reavis. She grew up in Little Rock Arkansas where she worked with the history commission. She had a love for genealogy and did extensive research on her families. Ellen loved to travel all over the United States and she particularly loved Colorado. One of her favorite past times in her journeys was horse racing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, Tommy Donato and Thomas Keegan. She is survived by one brother, Gus Lachowsky and his wife Jeannie of Fort Smith, Arkansas; one sister, Mary Mallett of Winston-Salem; two nieces, Irene Mallett Lyerly and her husband John of Winston-Salem, Barley Poindexter and her husband John of Fort Smith, Arkansas; two nephews, Patrick Mallett and his wife Kristin of Hillsborough and Gus Lachowsky III and his wife Cassie. A memorial service for Ellen will be held at 12:00 PM Monday, April 25, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Seneca Brown officiating. The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the entire staff at Trinity Glen nursing facility for all their compassionate and loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Glen nursing facility 849 Waterworks Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
