Ellen Kay (Ballard) Brown

Mrs. Ellen Kay Ballard Brown, 85, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born July 18, 1939, in Forsyth County to the late Odell and Myrtle Whicker Ballard. Mrs. Brown was a faithful member of Yadkin Valley Baptist Church. She loved fishing, baking, and was an avid Tar Heel fan. She was a kind person to everyone and deeply loved her family. Preceding her in death was her brother, Ken Ballard. Surviving are her husband of 45 years, William “Bill” Brown; son, Chip Brinegar (Julie Elise); daughter, Robin Jarvis (Roger); son, Ronnie Brown and a daughter, Lynn Transou; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and a sister, Pat Smothers. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Westlawn Gardens of Memory with Rev. Ronnie Craddock officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Yadkin Valley Baptist Church, 1324 Yadkin Valley Rd. Advance, NC 27006.
