Ella Mae Gambill Brown Sheets

SHEETS - RURAL HALL Ms. Ella Mae Gambill Brown Sheets, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, August 07, 2013 at her home. She was born in Slab Fork, WV on March 30, 1926 to the late Susan Archie Rhoades Gambill and Carl Montgomery Gambill. Mrs. Sheets graduated from Wilkes County High School in 1943 and attended the US Cadet Nursing Program in Montgomery, WV from 1943 to 1945. She retired from NC Baptist Hospital as a Unit secretary in 1994 with 24 years of service. Mrs. Sheets was of the Presbyterian faith. She loved reading, sewing, puzzles, video games and animals. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sheets was preceded in death by her husband, Dalmus Clate Brown. She is survived by her five daughters: Susan B. Eve (Ray) of Grapevine, TX, Sandra B. White of Rural Hall, Sarah B. Abbott (Donnie) of Walnut Cove, Sharon B. Scharff of Lewisville and Sabrina Brown of Winston-Salem; eight grandchildren: Allen White, Jonathan White (Xin Sheng), Jacqueline White, Tudor Abbott, Lanette Abbott, Robert Scharff, Anthony Scharff (Brooke) and Chelsea Brown; ten great-grandchildren: Alyssa White, Alec White, Mia White, Karah Abbott, Nathanel Abbott, Alanna Merritt, Ashleigh Holder Scharff, Thomas Holder Scharff, Andrew Scharff and Corey Scharff. A graveside service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Hollywood Cemetery in Elkin with Pastor Justin Duncan officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 9 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
