Elizabeth Vearl Efird

Elizabeth Vearl Efird, 84, passed away after a long illness on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. She was born in Winston-Salem on June 19, 1937 to Francis Bruner Efird, Jr. and Vearl Livengood Efird. Elizabeth was a lifelong member of Augsburg Lutheran Church. She graduated from R.J. Reynolds High School in 1955, UNC-Greensboro with a BA in English in 1959, and Yale University with an MA in English in 1960. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by one sister, Louise Efird Andrews of Williamsburg, VA. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Augsburg Lutheran Church, 845 W 5th St, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
