Elizabeth Baughan Swaim

Mrs. Elizabeth Baughan Swaim, 92, formerly of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the Blue Ridge Health Care in Raleigh. She was born November 13, 1916 in Mt. Airy to Harvey Clifton and Mary Holt Baughan. Mrs. Swaim was a member of Salem Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir, taught Sunday School, and a member of the DMA. She was retired after many years as a private duty nurse. Mrs. Swaim was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved cooking and loved to play games. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Swaim. Surviving are two daughters, Linda S. Fansler of Raleigh and Elizabeth B. Turner of Dania Beach, FL; five grandchildren, Bryan Andrew and Gregory Hamilton Fansler, Melissa Wager, Shauna Mahoney, and Robin Mejia; nine great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 26 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Dr. Howard Wilburn officiating. Memorials may be made to Salem Baptist Church, 429 S.
