Elizabeth Scales Powell

Mrs. Elizabeth Scales Powell, 91, of Lewisville, passed away Monday, June 2, 2014 at her home. She was born December 25, 1922 in Morristown, NJ to William E. and Agnes McKenna Scales. Mrs. Powell was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Powell. Surviving are one daughter, Lucy Rierson and husband David; one son, James D. Powell, Jr. and wife Rachel; four grandchildren, Niki Kale, Michelle Adkins, Steven Rierson and Phillip Rierson; three great grandchildren, Peyton, Molly and Lily; and a special friend, Helen Curtin. A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday
at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Michael Buttner officiating. A private burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Wilson, NC. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
