Elizabeth Anne K. Morgan

Elizabeth Anne Kennedy Morgan, the only child of Carlis Tilden Kennedy and Oweenee Everhart Kennedy, was born in Thomasville, NC. She was recognized to be strong in her convictions, but this trait never prevented her from a life full of generosity and kindness to others. Anne attended the public schools of Thomasville and graduated from Thomasville High School in 1963. Thereafter, she attended Wake Forest College and graduated in 1967, with a BA degree in both History and Education. She then taught school for one year in Thomasville while also teaching in the GED night program at Forsyth Tech. From 1968 to 1974, Anne was employed by the NC Employment Security Commission. Then from 1974, until her retirement in 1997, she held the positions of Recruitment Specialist and Personnel Analyst wherein she determined pay rates for various classifications of state employees. Upon retirement from NC State Government, Anne established and developed three separate real estate holding companies, involving the cities of Lexington, Thomasville, Mocksville and Winston-Salem, NC, which she very actively managed until her death. She was at all times a very self-sufficient person. Anne enjoyed life through many varied facets. At times she raised goats, later she kept bees and sold honey; but always she liked to wear pink. She was a constant and consummate shopper and frequently was involved in residential construction. Being a gracious hostess gave her much happiness, and she was always looking forward to organizing her next party. Anne believed in hand written thank you notes, knew how and where to buy the proper electrical or plumbing parts, and sewed her own draperies. However, this century the wonders of world travel captured her. With her husband Ron, she visited all seven continents and well over 100 countries during many extended trips. Anne was predeceased by her parents and her first husband, James D. Brock. She is survived by her husband, Ronald C. Morgan, who she married September 9, 2009; and her step-daughters, Stephanie Winter of San Jose, Costa Rica, Nathalie Morgan of Greenville, SC, and Valerie Goff of Bradenton, FL, and their husbands and seven grandchildren. Anne so enjoyed her life and fought with all her will not to leave us. She had trips planned and construction protects to finish. Whenever she believed her rights were not properly addressed by a company, bank, medical facility, etc., she would vigorously protest her position. Since she considered the illness that took her life an unacceptable mistake, no doubt she is at the gates of heaven demanding, ""I need to speak with your Supervisor.""
