Elizabeth "Betty" Hair

Mrs. Elizabeth C. ""Betty"" Hair, 87, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was born August 28, 1928 in Cumberland County to the late Daniel James and Annie Hall Culbreth. Mrs. Hair retired from N.C. Baptist Hospital as a Registered Nurse and was a member of Union Ridge United Methodist Church. She was an avid reader and loved playing scrabble. Mrs. Hair was a Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Order of the White Shrine, Amaranth, and Daughters of the Nile. Preceding her in death was a daughter and son-in-law, Lib and Bud Lunsford; two grandsons, Ryan D. Creech and James L. Lunsford and a brother, Dan Culbreth. Surviving is her husband, William Lacy Hair, Sr.; daughter, Jeanette Boner (Burton); son, W.L. ""Bill"" Hair, Jr. (Susan); daughter, Deanie Hair Creech; six grandchildren, John Lunsford, Sara and Matthew Hair, Jennifer Shelton, Brent Boner, and Lauren Creech; three great-grandchildren, Chloe, Owen, and Ava Elizabeth; also surviving is a brother, Arthur Culbreth (Judy) and a sister-in-law, Catherine Sanders. A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Union Ridge United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Evans officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at 12:00 noon one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Union Ridge United Methodist Church, 3620 Old Lexington Rd. Winston-Salem, NC 27107 or to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Piedmont Triad Chapter, 216 W. Market St., Greensboro, NC 27401.
