God called another one of his angels home, Elizabeth Arlene Griffin, 91, a lifelong resident of Winston-Salem passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home surrounded by numerous family members. She was the daughter of Rex Dalton and Elizabeth Blalock Hege and the last of six children. She was married in 1942 to Delbert Nicholos Griffin. Her life revolved around her children and grandchildren. She gave everything and asked for nothing. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband; parents; infant twin daughters, Betsy Jane and Linda Arlene; one son, Charles Rodney. She is survived by five sons; Dennis, Aubry, Ricky, and Hartley Griffin all of Winston-Salem and Donnie Griffin of Raleigh; nine daughters, Libby Owens of East Bend, Diane Kinley, Patty Sealey, Sharon Sealey, Melinda Merritt, Debbie Wadkins, Renee Saul, Robin McDowell, and Melody Hoots all of Winston-Salem. She had been blessed with an extended family of forty grandchildren, sixty-nine great grandchildren, and fourteen great-great grandchildren. She had one furbaby, Reese. She will be greatly missed for generations to come. Her legacy is her numerous family members to carry on her memory. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Clayton Reid officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
