Elizabeth Ferebee Epermanis (Betty) passed away on April 7, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. Betty was a beautiful person both physically and spiritually. She was completely devoted to her family as a loving wife of 31 years to Peter and as a loving and inspiring mother to her sons, Andrew and Matthew. She loved her family more than life itself, and she loved God. She was a caring daughter, sister, aunt, and a loyal friend. Betty had an innate ability to see the good in all people, and she often reminded us that every individual is a child of God. Very frequently she was willing to step out of her own comfort zone to befriend strangers and to provide solace when we were distressed and lonely. She always provided a listening ear and a shoulder on which to cry. She had a deep faith in God. She was a peacemaker. We all will miss Betty, the light and love she brought to our lives. We are all better people for having known and loved her, and the love she gave to all of us who knew her will forever remain in our hearts and strengthen our faith. A Memorial Service to celebrate Betty's life will be held at Centenary United Methodist Church, 646 West Fifth Street in Winston Salem on Thursday, April 12 at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Dining Room of the church. Interment will be private in the church columbarium. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Epermanis Medical/Scholarship Fund at Centenary United Methodist Church, PO Box 658, Winston Salem NC 27102.
