Elizabeth Helen McNeill 'Libby' Cushman

Mrs. Elizabeth Helen McNeill ""Libby"" Cushman, 63, of Winston-Salem died Friday, March 23, 2012 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. She was born July 8, 1948 in Forsyth County, the daughter of the late, James ""Red"" and Bonnie James McNeill. She was also preceded in death by a niece to the late aunt Ruby G. Welborn. Mrs. Cushman was a member of First Alliance Church where she was a leader of the O.W.L.S. Senior Fellowship. She was also a member of the Winston-Salem Women of the Moose Lodge Chapter 1169 where she was a past Senior Regent. She was retired from Medical Park Hospital where she was a nursing supervisor. Libby was a proud Air Force wife, loving mother, Mimi and loved her family, friends and cats. Survivors include her loving husband of 44 years, Alan B. Cushman of the home; one daughter, Aleena Cushman Felts and husband, Dan of King; one granddaughter, Madison Elizabeth Felts of King; one uncle, George Welborn of Winston-Salem and one aunt, Agnes Sigmon of Thaxton, VA.; a long time nursing friend Olivia Perkins. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Jeff Lonsinger officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
