Elizabeth "Betty" Cacioppo

Kernersville - Elizabeth J. ""Betty"" Cacioppo, 85, of Colfax, N.C. died April 1st, 2016.
She was born in Dunmore, PA on Nov. 20, 1930, to the late William and Adeline Watkin. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Salvatore (Sam) R. Cacioppo.
Betty graduated from Dunmore High School class of 1948. Prior to retirement, Betty worked for a number of years at Acme Markets and Williams Bakery. Prior to relocating to North Carolina, Betty and Sam lived in the Nativity section of Scranton for 51 years. Betty was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensboro NC.

Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her greatest pleasures were sewing, crocheting, bowling and spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving are a daughter, Mary Beth Mattioli and husband, Joseph, Colfax, NC, three sons, Robert Cacioppo, Cortland, NY, Carmen Cacioppo and wife Kathy, Arnold, MD, William Cacioppo and wife Cindy, Clarkes Summit, PA. Grandchildren, Tania Carter, Joseph Mattioli, Jr., Mia Turman, Daniel, Laura, Emma, Kyle, Natalie, Dana and Emily Cacioppo. Great grandchildren Madeline, Jackson, Samuel, Sofia and Waylon, one niece and two nephews.

A funeral liturgy outside of a Mass will be 12:00 pm Monday, April 4, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. Burial will follow in Mt Gur Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
