Elizabeth "Betty" Cook Bruestle

Mrs. Elizabeth “Betty” Cook Bruestle, 94, of Clemmons, NC passed away Monday, June 12, 2023 at  Trinity Elms Assisted Living. She was born August 22, 1928 in Danville, VA to Bennie B. Cook and Sadie Crawford Cook. Mrs. Bruestle was of the Presbyterian faith and loved sewing, playing tennis and bridge. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Charles Clark Bruestle. Surviving are her two daughters, Terri Bruestle Cardwell (Jeffrey) and Karen Elizabeth Bruestle; three grandchildren, Jennifer Jennison (David), Stephanie Herndon (Wells) and Katherine Cardwell and three great grandchildren, Jack Jennison, Charlie Jennison and Grace Herndon, who brought her great joy and her cat, Callie. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel in Advance, NC. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Highland Burial Park, 3049 N. Main St., Danville, VA 24541 with Rev. Austin Bailey officiating. Shiva will be observed Wednesday, June 14, from 6 p.m. with a minyan at 6:30 p.m. at 1055 Seasons Chase Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Memorials can be made to The Forsyth Humane Society or to the charity of the donor's choice in Mrs. Bruestle's honor.
