Mr. Elijah Edward Wyatt, 15, of Winston-Salem, passed away unexpectedly at Belews Lake on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. He loved swimming, fishing, and exploring the outdoors. Elijah passed away while doing what he loved to do. Elijah was born in Forsyth County on March 27, 2007. He was a member of Heavenview United Pentecostal Church in Winston-Salem and attended R.J. Reynolds High School. Elijah also enjoyed playing golf and pool and he planned to join the United States Navy with the goal of becoming a Navy Seal. Elijah was preceded in death by his father, Brandon Lee Wyatt; maternal great-grandparents, Sam and Corby Mosley; and one uncle, Christopher Wyatt. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Ginger Elizabeth Sealey Bennett and Bernard “Bernie” Franklin Bennett; siblings, Tyler Wyatt, Matthew French, Eva French, Asa French, and Sammie Wyatt; maternal grandparents, Donald and Christine Sealey; paternal grandparents, Don and Debbie Wyatt; maternal great-grandparents, Wayne and Frances Gordon; and maternal great-grandfather, Bill Sealey. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Harold Linder officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Elijah was a loving son, brother, and friend. He was wonderful with kids and loved spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for all who helped search for Elijah including first responders from Stokes-Rockingham Fire and Rescue, Madison Rescue Squad, Belews Creek Fire and Rescue, High Point Fire Department and dive team, Stokes County Emergency Services and EMS, NC Wildlife, Stokes County Fire Marshal’s office, NC State Emergency Management, and Joe and Rebecca Salazar and family.
