Mrs. Eleni Kakouras Hodges, 56, died peacefully on April 4, 2009 after a long battle with scleroderma. Eleni was born in Kalesmeno, Greece on February 13, 1953 to Giorgios and Vasiliki Kakouras. She came to North Carolina in 1973 after marrying James Stephen Hodges, with whom she has been married for 35 years. She worked at Steve's Italian, Coronet Restaurant, Cagney's Place and Stratford Station. A woman of strong faith, Eleni was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. She is dearly loved and will always be remembered by her two sons, Steven James Hodges of Cary, N.C. and George James Hodges and wife Beth of Winston-Salem; a grandson Stavros Nicholaus of Winston-Salem' a brother, Sam Kakouras and wife, Soula of Greenville, S. C.; two nieces, Vicky Christou and Kakouras, both of New York; a sister, Marianthe Kakouras of Athens, Greece; and her father, Giorgis Kakouras of Kalesmeno. Mrs. Hodges was preceded in death by her mother, Vasiliki Kakouras and her brother, Spiro Kakouras.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday at the Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7-8""30 pm Monday at the church with a Trisagon service at 7:30 p.m. Online condolences may be made to www.hayworth-miller.com
