She enjoyed devoting her time to choir, being a church secretary, and a loving wife and mother. He then worked with the Virginia Port Authority which brought them to Winston-Salem in 1970. Eleanore and Bill became active members of Augsburg Lutheran Church at that time. She was active in her bowling league, serving as secretary for the league until age 90, and was an avid cross-stitcher with a slew of various ribbons and honors. She loved to play and teach bridge across the years. Eleanore is preceded in death by her husband and infant granddaughter, Kenna, both in 1997. She moved to Clemmons in 2000, marrying the Rev. Dr. Edwin N. Troutman in 2007 who later died on December 23rd, 2011. She is survived by her loving children, Ken (Lisa), Alan (Marcie), and Karen; as well as her grandchildren, Kenny (Gina), John, Philip (Karie), William (Mallory), Adam (Katie), Zach, Jill (Justin), Lauren (Elijah), Andy (Camryn), David, Christy (Caleb), and Lyndsey; and her many well-loved great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Denise Henry officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:45am until 11:45am prior to the service at the funeral home.
