Eleanor S. Eckenroth

Eleanor Spicer Eckenroth, accompanied by her guardian angel pendant, passed away during a beautiful sunset on May 31, 2011 and is now at peace in Heaven. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and Nana, who fought a courageous, short battle with Pancreatic Cancer and passed away at the Palliative Care Unit of Forsyth Medical Center. Ellie was born January 7, 1943 in Memphis, TN and graduated from Cedar Cliff High School in Camp Hill, PA in 1960. Nana, as she was known to her eight beautiful grandchildren will be deeply missed but her loving spirit will be with them forever. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and watching sports, especially her favorite team, the Chicago Bears. Ellie also enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Bermuda Run Ladies Nine Hole Golf Group. She was preceded in death by her parents Oda and Fulmer Spicer; her father-in-law, Russell Eckenroth and many beloved family members and friends. Ellie is survived by her loving husband, Gary Eckenroth; three children, Stephanie Walker and husband, Randy, their three children, Rachael, Kyle, and Anna, all of Fox River Grove, IL; Bradley Eckenroth and wife Angela, their three children, Kelsea, Brady, and Hannah, all of Overland Park, KS; and Mike Eckenroth and wife Rebecca, their two sons, Adam and Luke, all of Clemmons.
