Eldonna Gardner

Mrs. Eldonna Roberts Gardner, 82, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away peacefully Sunday July 10th surrounded by her family. She was born in Lebanon, Indiana, on October 22, 1939, to the late Lora Hinshaw Roberts Frazier. The eldest of seven siblings, she was preceded in death by her brother Roger Lynn Roberts. She is survived by her beloved husband, Charles Gardner; her two children, Jeff Gardner (Alison), and Michelle Leanne Werkmeister (Phil); six grandchildren, William Gardner, Benjamin Gardner, Isabel Werkmeister, Sarah Werkmeister, Zoe Werkmeister, and Luke Werkmeister; and her siblings, Frank Roberts (Barbara), Ina Roberts Sibella (Scott), Cheryl Roberts Reese (Dale), Edwina Frazier Hewett, and James Frazier. She was a devoted spouse and mother. She loved all things music with a particular affection for hymns and musicals, and she also sang with The Indianapolis Choral Company. She shared her gifts as a pianist for her community church in Indiana and later with fellow participants at the William’s Adult Day Center in Winston-Salem. She will be deeply missed.

A committal service will be held Monday, July 18, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Forsyth Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held immediately following the committal service at 11:00 AM at Highland Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Randy Harris officiating.
