Elbert Crawford

Kernersville - Mr. Elbert Crawford, 74, passed away Friday, September 4, 2009, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born June 9, 1935, in Pitt County, NC to Pate and Mary Ethel Wilson Crawford. Elbert served in the US Navy for 21 years and was a Real Estate Appraiser for the Forsyth County Tax Office. Of the Presbyterian faith, Elbert was one of a kind - a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. In addition to his father, Elbert was preceded in death by his sister, Shelby Fluet. Surviving are his loving wife, Margaret Crawford, of Kernersville; two daughters, Karen Bristow (Johnnie) of Richlands, NC, and Alison Caudill, of Winston-Salem; three sons, Brian Crawford (Tricia) of Virginia Beach, VA, Eric Crawford (Beth) of Norfolk,VA, and Allen Barbee, of Richlands, NC; 13 grandchildren; his mother, Mary Crawford, of Kernersville; a brother, Robert Crawford, of Kernersville; two sisters, Carol Reinhart, of Fredricksburg, VA and Elizabeth Little, of Hertford, NC. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Dr. Pete Kunkle and Rev. Wayne Branch officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Monday, September 7, 2009, at the funeral home.
