Elaine York

Mrs. Elaine Marshall York, age 76 of Clemmons passed away Monday, April 18, 2022 at Forsyth Medical Center.  She was born March 6, 1946 in Davie County to the late Thomas K. Marshall and Lera Carter Marshall. She was a former member of her childhood church, Dulin United Methodist Church and had retired as an accounting clerk for Walmart after 27 years of service.  She is preceded in death by two sisters, Sarah Luper and JoAnn Smith; two brothers, Frank and Tom Marshall and one son, Andrew York.  She is survived by her husband, John Blaine York, Sr. one son, John Blaine York, Jr. two grandchildren, Joshua Luke York and Jessica Hooper (Davy); two great grandsons, Langston and Kellynn Hooper; three brothers, John Marshall (Adna), William Marshall (Johnna) and Mark Marshall (Pandora); two sisters, Betty Moeller (Thomas) and Madeline Hire (John) and one brother-in-law, Will York.  Elaine attended Davie County Schools with 12 years of perfect attendance.  She was a graduate of the class of 1964 from Davie County High School.  She loved shopping, decorating and movies.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM Saturday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel prior to the graveside service.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
