Elaine Middleton Swaim

Mrs. Elaine Middleton Swaim, of Winston-Salem, died Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Salemtowne. Elaine was married to the late Elmer L. Swaim. Elaine was the oldest of three daughters born to Seymour and Ollie Belle Gibson Middleton. Elaine retired as Treasurer of the Pfefferkorn Agency. She was very active in the Garden Clubs of Winston-Salem. She was on the N. C. Board for all garden clubs in North Carolina and served as President of the Board. Elaine also served on the Board of the J.C. Raulston Arboretum at NC State University. Surviving are two sisters, Hilda M. Chisholm of Alexandria,Va and Jane M. Oehman of Hampton, Va; and nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 16th at Salem Moravian Graveyard. Memorials may be made to the J. C.
