Ms. Elaine Humphrey Michael, 82, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023. She was born August 25, 1941 in Indiana to Claude Pennington Humphrey and Martha White Humphrey.  Elaine was a member of Center Grove Church where she served years ago as a greeter. She retired from the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System after 30 years of service. She was known as Mama Broach / Mama Michael. She served in many roles such as secretary, nurse, counselor to many students in Forsyth County. She was loved by all students and their parents as well.  Surviving are her children, Bryan Scott Broach and Jacqueline Elaine Broach (husband Dr. Jerry Chostner); two step grandchildren, Courtney Whitley (husband Ryan), Keith Chostner (partner Adam Norman); two great granddaughters, Hattie and Libby; a niece, Christy Walker (husband Kurt Thieleman); a great niece, Rachael Walker and a great nephew, Garrett Walker; two nephews, Larry Crozier and Alan Dennison and a dear and special friend/sitter, Debbie Feld. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Center Grove Church with Dr. Gary Chapman and Pastor Joseph Tucker officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. (Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Creek Chapel is serving Ms. Michael's family.)
