Elaine Collins

Mrs. Nellie Elaine Bennett Collins, 78, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Stokes Co. on July 14, 1942 the daughter of the late Grady Ray Bennett and Ila Mae Warner Bennett. Elaine was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in King and a member of the Sauratown Club. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be missed deeply by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Emma Rachel Bennett. Elaine is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Delma Edman Collins; a daughter, Vickie Lynn Collins; two sons, Ricky Ray Collins (Sharon) and Casey Bennett Collins (Nikki); five grandchildren, Cayla Nystrom (Peter), Sarah Mae Collins, Robin Dawson (Brandin), Payton Collins and Hunter Collins; 6 great-grandchildren; a special niece, Shannon Bennett; and a special friend, Sue Hopkins. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Closer Walk Baptist Church in King with Pastor Eddie Honeycutt and Rev. Stan Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the committal service.
