Eileen Dolores Rocovich, 64, of Winston-Salem, NC, lost her long battle with cancer on Monday, April 25, 2022, with her partner in life of 22 years, Robert Lineberry, by her side.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dolores Mae Rocovich (1980) and Pete Rocovich (1975), and her brother, George (1979). Surviving siblings are her sister, Linda Loveless (Dry Ridge, KY), and brother, Rudy (Florence, KY). She has 2 beloved nieces she was very close with, Tammy Valentine (husband Rich in Sterling, VA) and Amy Ireland (husband Mick in Williamstown, KY), with extended family up north.
Eileen had something special, a spark that drew people to her. She moved to Fredericksburg, VA in the 80’s and spent many years there working hard and having fun with her sister and nieces. In 1994, she relocated to Winston-Salem, NC, where she spent the remainder of her life. Eileen had a deep love for animals. Their two dogs, Lucy and Dazy, brought so much joy and companionship.
She spent many years as an Executive Chef, eventually finding a new niche working as a floral designer for 2 local florists in Winston-Salem. She had a huge heart and gave so much of herself to others. She was an advocate for animals and loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, time in the sun, racing and was a huge hockey fan who very much loved her Carolina Hurricanes.
Eileen was a sweet, kind soul who will be missed so very much. We find comfort knowing she is free of the pain and discomfort of cancer and is resting safe in the arms of our Lord and Savior. A lover of life and animals, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Eileen’s name to your local animal shelter or rescue organization.
