Mrs. Eftehea Chonis Tucker, 87, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice. She was born December 21, 1932 in Monroe, the daughter of John and Despina Tsaousis Chonis. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, a member of Christian Women’s Club, and was retired from the N.C. Department of Pardons and Paroles. She loved to sing, cook and garden, but her dream was to own her own restaurant. An outgoing person: she never met a stranger, nor went anywhere that she did not know at least one person. She will be missed by all that knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters. Survivors include a son, Stephen Tucker and wife, Rita of Clemmons; two daughters, Teresa Tucker and Marilyn Tucker both of Winston-Salem; two grandsons, Joshua Tucker and wife, Veronica of Clemmons and Joseph Tucker and wife, Allie of Lewisville; five great grandchildren, Titus, Case, Grace, Braydon and Hannah. A Celebration of Eftehea’s Life will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Al Fausch officiating. Inurnment will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday November 10, 2020 at Evergreen Cemetery, Charlotte. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N.
