Mrs. Effie Renegar Shore, 95 of Winston-Salem, ""at rest from trouble, care and sorrow"" passed away Monday, August 4, 2008 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mrs. Shore was born December 29, 1912 in Iredell County to the late Henry Shober and Laura Queen Renegar. ""Miss Effie's"" greatest pleasure in life before her illness was to help others in their time of need. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Effie was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Herbert T. Shore, two sisters, Ruby Renegar, Eula Smith and a brother, Burley Renegar. Surviving to cherish her memory is her daughter, Peggy Dry of Graham, NC, a son, Herbert T. Shore, Jr. of Winston-Salem, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a sister, Pauline Cain of Statesville, NC and a special cousin, Travis Queen of Pfafftown, NC. A Graveside Service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 7 at Forsyth Memorial Park officiated by Rev. David Smith. Memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 2390 Bethel Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to Hospice/Palliative Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem NC 27103. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the Shore Family. The Shore Family would like express their appreciation to the staff of Hospice Winston-Salem/Forsyth County for the care given to Miss Effie.
