Effie Tuttle Marshall, 97, formerly of Advance passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012, at Longleaf Neuro-Medical Treatment Center in Wilson, NC, where she had been a resident for 12 years. She was born on December 6, 1914, in Stokes County, to Joseph Seaton and Susie Yates Tuttle. Effie was a member of Green Meadows Baptist Church where she loved to sing in the choir and for many years furnished flower arrangements for the church from her flower garden. In 1977, she retired from B & F Manufacturing Company in Mocksville where she had worked for 12 years. She is survived by a son, Arnold Grey Marshall and fiancé Judy Howell of Advance; daughter, Linda Marshall Boyer and husband Larry Boyer, of Zebulon; two grandsons, Jeffrey Boyer of Louisburg and Philip Boyer of Zebulon; two great-grandsons, Zackary Carter and Joseph Boyer of Louisburg; sisters, Stella Boles of Pfafftown, Stacy Hobson of Yadkinville, Pauline Tilley of Lexington, Gladys Norris and husband Clinard of Winston-Salem, Roslie Collins and husband Don of Rural Hall; brothers, Ren Tuttle of Burlington, Wayne Tuttle and wife Esta of Winston-Salem, Max Tuttle and wife Kay of Germanton and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mary Fansler and a brother, Burl Tuttle. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. at Green Meadows Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev Josh Greene officiating.
