Mr. Edwin Lee Findley, 75, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, December 3, 2012 after a long courageous battle. He was born in Forsyth Co. on April 14, 1937 to the late Theodore Roosevelt Findley and Viola Rachael Aldridge Findley. Mr. Findley was retired from the City of Winston-Salem and was currently working with Tim Williams Building Co. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed deeply by all who knew him. Mr. Findley loved the Lord and was a member of Kingsway Chapel in King. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two children, Robert ""Bobby"" Findley and Patricia Brooks and three brothers, James Douglas Findley, William Ray Findley and James Robinson Findley. Mr. Findley is survived by his wife of 35 years, Delora ""Debbie"" Findley of the home, three children, Charles Findley of Surf City, Karen Sheppard of Surf City and Amy Davis (Jimmy) of King, 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, a sister, Nancy Cavanaugh of Mt. Airy and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall with Rev. James Williams and Mr. Tim Williams officiating. Burial and committal service will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Winston-Salem at a later date. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 this evening Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
