Edward Lee Wood

Edward Lee Wood joined the love of his life, Marjorie Holley Wood, in his heavenly home on May 7, 2023. Edward’s love for family, church and work kept him active and moving until he could do no more. When he wasn’t driving a truck, he was riding a tractor or a mower. Edward drove a truck with McLean Trucking until they closed the doors, then he drove for Martin Motor Lines and Credit Union Auto Buying Service before he retired. Edward remained active with the retirees through his union work and breakfast group on Tuesdays at Bojangles. While a member of Union Ridge United Methodist Church, he served faithfully in many positions. Edward was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church for the last few years where he found a new family to love. He served his Masonic Lodge through attendance and work for as long as he was able. Edward’s surviving family, Gerald Wood, Ann Wood Flinchum and his spoiled cat, Sanford, will miss him as will many special family and friends. Remember and honor him by sharing a smile or a kind word with someone each day. The family will plan a celebration of Edward’s life at a future date.
