Edward Lee Rouse

Kernersville - Mr. Edward Lee Rouse passed away Friday, May 29, 2015 at Carolina Medical Center in Concord. He was born in Kenton County, Kentucky April 26, 1926 to the late Clarence Rouse and Allean Phelps Rouse. Mr. Rouse loved saltwater fishing, softball, and hunting in his earlier years. He was a member of the Kernersville Wesleyan Church since 1963. He opened Kernersville Wallpaper and Paint on Main Street in 1963 when the family moved to Kernersville from Kentucky for a better life. In recent years he sold the business and later opened Custom Discount Blinds. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Rouse.

Surviving are: his loving wife Beatrice Leadingham Rouse, two daughters: Ann Storey and husband Mike of Kannapolis, Sharon Jordan and husband Larry of Myrtle Beach, six grandchildren: Colleen Christy and husband Aaron, Cristen Seymore and husband Brandon, Rockford Jordan, Carrie VanDerbeck and husband Josh, Nicholas Jordan and wife Taylor, and Jay Jordan. Three great grandchildren: Kaylie VanDerbeck, Max Edward Christy, Emmerson Jordan, and three nephews, Bob, Mike, and Doug Rouse.

A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. Gur Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 1:30 PM prior to the service. Online condolences may be made to www.hayworth-miller.com
