Mr. Edward Andrew McBride, age 77, passed away July 4, 2018, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born June 24, 1941 in Davie County to the late Alfred Anderson McBride and Lora Victoria McBride. Andrew retired from Coca Cola with 47 years' service, beginning at the early age of 15. In addition, he and his son were the owners of Luther Concessions, specializing in candy making, cotton candy, and the best caramel apples for 34 years at the Dixie Classic and State Fair. Andrew was a faithful and dependable member of Woodland Baptist Church. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Andrew will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Andrew was preceded in death by one brother, Grady Junior McBride and a son-in-law, Kent Brown. He is survived by his daughter, Pamela McBride Beard (Eldon); son, Todd McBride (Cheryl); five grandchildren: Stephen Brown (Andrea), Sarah Billups (Joey), Seth Brown, Mikayla McBride, and Mariah McBride; two great-grandchildren, Kaiya "Goob" McBride and Julia Brown; stepmother, Nancy McBride; long-time companion, Mary Frances Wall and her children, Tim Wall (Michele) and Phil Wall; and Mary's grandchildren: Hannah, Tori, and Taylor Wall; twin brother, Matthew McBride; sister, Peggy Recard (Bobby); brother, Ronnie McBride; many nieces and nephews; and his special canine companion, Delilah. A memorial service will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with the Rev. Tim Gammons officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made at Woodland Baptist Church Building Fund, 1175 Bethania Rural Hall Road, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27106.
