Edward Clement

On Friday December 11, 2020, Edward J Clement, loving husband and father, fell asleep in death at the age of 82. Edward was born on December 16, 1937 in Ann Arbor, MI to Melvin and Sadie (Lomas) Clement. On November 12, 1959 he married the love of his life, Marilyn J Siler. Together they raised three daughters and one son, Glena, Cathy, Tamara, and Michael. They continued loyal to their marriage vows enjoying 61 years of adventures together.

Edward started his lifelong career as a letter carrier for the U.S.P.S. early on in Livonia, MI, and continued in Westland, MI, thereafter moving to the Upper Peninsula in 1976, while first residing in Manistique, MI for three years, he continued his career as a letter carrier in Escanaba, MI completing 41 years before he retired in 1998. After his retirement, he worked part-time as a school bus driver in Escanaba, then after moving to Lewisville, NC in 2004, continued driving school bus for another few years. Eventually he and Marilyn moved to Winston Salem, NC, where they have resided the last few years.

Edward was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and he truly enjoyed sharing the good news of God's Kingdom with others. Everyone that knew him knew he had a deep love for our Creator. It was also very important that his family was provided for physically and spiritually. He was a people person and was sure to greet you if passing by. He was gentle hearted, a very kind and caring man, eager to be a good listener and offer comforting words from the Bible. He enjoyed many different types of puzzles that would challenge his thinking, he also enjoyed gardening, outdoor work, even shoveling snow, and just being active. He enjoyed riding bikes and especially loved walking everyday. He is known for being a 'dapper' gentleman, always wearing a stylish hat. Edward has touched the lives of many by his example and his humble words of wisdom that came from his sincere efforts to study God's Word in depth and live by the principles he learned. He will be greatly missed by many.

Edward was preceded in death by his father, Melvin, his mother, Sadie, two brothers, Robert and C. William, one sister, Carol (Clement) Bailey, and a six year old grandson, Christopher Leach.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Clement, his four children, Glena (Nicholas) Anger, Cathy (George) Kobasic, Tamara (David) Vanbrocklin, Michael (Alicia) Clement, several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A zoom memorial service will be arranged by the family.
