BROWDER King - Mr. Edward ""Ed"" Hardin Browder, 66, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at his home. He was born March 19, 1944 in Forsyth County to the late Brascom ""Brack"" Browder and Rama Tuttle Browder. Mr. Browder proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and retired from R.J. Reynolds-Archer Aluminum. Surviving are his wife and best friend of 45 years, Judith Hawks Browder of the home; two sons, Mickey Dale Browder (Kimberly) of Westfield and Jeffrey Blake Browder (Dolly) of King; three special granddaughters, Sarah, Ecko and Rebecca; one sister, Audrey Pegram (Henry); one brother, Harold Browder (Jane); and special in-laws, Grady and Hattie Hawks of King. A Funeral Service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 16 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Ralph Sproles, Minister and Mr. Mickey Browder officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park with military burial rites conducted by the American Legion Post 290 of King. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, June 15 at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, P.O. Box 863, Walnut Cove, NC 27052 or to Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 5413 NC Hwy 66 S, King, NC 27021. The family would like to extend a special thanks to friends, family and caregivers during Ed's brief illness.
