Kernersville - Mrs. Edna Mae Doggett Weatherford, 99, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Edna was born on June 7, 1912 in Oconee, GA, to the late William Shade and Nancy Brown Doggett. She worked as a seamstress at a local hosiery mill and was an active member of Main Street Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. Edna was a very loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was a positive influence to her family and made the best out of every situation. Her laughter was her ministry to others and will be greatly missed! In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Neville Elridge Weatherford; a son, Billy Weatherford; a grandson, Alan Weatherford; three sisters, Mattie Hart, Dollie Horn and Zelma Bellamy; and three brothers. Surviving are her daughter, Nancy Sapp; her son, Neville David ""Ned"" Weatherford (Frances); four grandchildren, Kelly Sapp, Trina Sapp Ransom, Pam Hadley and Tracey Ivey; five great grandchildren, Ty, Ryan and Zack Ransom, Caitlyn Hadley and Sebastian Ivey; and two nieces, Delores Planhusky and Geraldine English. A Graveside Service will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Oakwood Memorial Park Mausoleum in High Point. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Terry Sapp Ministries, 223 Beeson Court, Kernersville, NC, 27284 or Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane Winston Salem, NC 27103.
