Mrs. Edna Davis Summey, 89, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015, at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Summey was born on March 13, 1926, in High Point, NC to the late John Henry Davis and Ada Simpson Davis. Edna retired from Techniques, Inc. after 26 years of service. Following retirement she became a stay at home grandmother, overall caregiver, and lacrosse and skating chauffeur. In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Summey; and eight brothers and sisters, Earl Davis, Paul Davis, Robey Davis, Lewis Davis, Gurney Davis, Minnie Johnson, Mae Mitchell and Dewey Davis. She is survived by her daughter, Marty Lambeth (Bob Eberle) of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren, Evan Lambeth and Parker Lambeth, both of Charlotte, NC; two beloved cats, Ben and Jerry; and numerous other loving family members and special friends. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Bishop Paul E. Johnson and Bishop Michael L. Johnson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Floral Garden Memorial Park in High Point, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Forsyth County Humane Society, 61 Miller St., Winston-Salem, NC 27104 or Senior Services, 2895 Shorefair Dr., Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
