Edna Lucille Jackson Stanley

Mrs. Edna Lucille Stanley, 87, of Winston-Salem, passed away Monday, November 23, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born June 19, 1922 in Forsyth County to Charles and Selena Collins Jackson. Edna and Leroy met many friends in the Knollwood/Thurway Shopping Center area, while on their daily walks as he pushed her along. Surviving are her devoted husband, Leroy Stanley, Jr.; one son, Leroy ""Sonny"" Stanley, III (Valerie); two grandchildren, Stephen Stanley, serving in the United States Air Force in Alaska and Allison Stanley, of Charlotte; three great grandchildren and a sister, Lillian Mae Wise. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, November 27, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
