Mrs. Edna Potter Leamon, 83, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Village Care of King. She was born in Forsyth County to the late Rufus T. Potter and Bertie Mae Watkins Potter. Mrs. Leamon was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of First Baptist Church of King and had great love of softball. Mrs. Leamon played softball for Hanes Hosiery Gym and Parkway Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her three brothers, George Potter, Ralph Potter and Paul Potter. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Herman Leamon of the home, a daughter, Linda Leamon Carlsen and husband Craig of Wilmington, a son, Mark Leamon and wife Karen of Pinnacle and two grandsons, Robert DeVos of Pinnacle and Jacob Carlsen of Wilmington. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown with Dr. John Wrenn officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 this evening March 10, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. The family would like to send a special thanks to the staff at Hospice of Stokes, Alzheimer's Association and to the staff of Village Care of King for all of the wonderful care shown to Mrs. Leamon in her time of need.
