Edna Gann Groce Hardwick

Edna Gann Groce Hardwick, 95, passed away January 1, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born June 13, 1917 in Troup Co., GA to the late Jefferson Marion Gann and Annie Moody Gann. Mrs. Hardwick was a member of Heritage Hills Baptist Church. She retired from Hanes Knitwear with 12 years of service. She enjoyed traveling the country and spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Hardwick was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Groce and her second husband, Maxie Hardwick. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her sister, Betty Fulcher and husband Frank of Winston-Salem; a nephew, Mark Thigpen of Stokesdale; a niece, Kathy Rigdon and husband Donald of Florida; three great-nephews, Joseph Rigdon, Kole Thigpen, and Anthony Thigpen. She is also survived by other numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Jennings O'Neil officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
