WINSTON-SALEM - Edna Lentz Doub Gordon passed into the more immediate presence of her Lord and Savior at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home on Monday, January 09, 2012. Edna was born on January 12, 1921, in Winston-Salem, N.C., to Oscar Clay Lentz and May Monroe Lentz. Preceding her in death were her only son, Marvin Clay Doub and her second husband, Woodrow Scales Gordon. She was also preceded in death by her brothers: Marvin, Bill, John and Clay Lentz; as well as step sons William and Phillip Gordon. Survivors include her daughter-in-law Janet Thomas Doub, her stepdaughter-in-law Wynn Potts Gordon, her twin brother J. Edwin Lentz, and her brother Alan Lentz. She is also survived by grandchildren: Melanie Doub Ahr and husband Sean, Christina Doub Burton and husband Jeff; step grandchildren Leslie Gordon, Michelle Gordon Harrison and husband Patrick; her great grandchildren are Charles Andrew Ahr, Sarah Grace Ahr, Matthew Thomas Ahr and Nathaniel Thomas Burton. Edna Gordon was employed by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company for 38 years. She was a member of Augsburg Lutheran Church and Christ Lutheran Church until becoming a member of Konnoak Hills Moravian Church in 2001. For the last several years she was a resident of Heritage Woods Senior Living where she enjoyed a caring environment. The family is extremely appreciative of the staff of Heritage Woods, the staff at Palliative Care at Forsyth Medical Center, and the staff of K.B. Reynolds Hospice Home for the kind and compassionate care Edna received in her time of declining health. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Konnoak Hills Moravian Church with Reverend John D. Rights officiating. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall prior to the service. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
