Mrs. Edna Marie Ferguson Emerson, 90, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Walnut Cove Health and Rehabilitation. She was born in Yadkin Co. on October 4, 1931, the daughter of the late Aubrey Montgomery Ferguson and Velma Hemric Ferguson. Mrs. Emerson was a longtime member of Bethany Baptist Church. She enjoyed bowling at Northside Lanes in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Emerson was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, who will be missed dearly by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lindberg Emerson and a son, Ricky Charles Emerson. She is survived by a son, Scottie Emerson (Kelly); a daughter-in-law, Kimberly Westmoreland; two grandchildren, Amber Emerson Runge (Kevin) and Sam Smith (Tori); a step-granddaughter, Alicia Frizzell; two brothers, Eugene Ferguson (Lavon) and Dean Ferguson (Dina); two sisters, Sara Cheek and Annette Dray (Frank) and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 6, 2021, at Bethany Baptist Church with Dr. Brad Stamey officiating. Entombment will follow in Gardens of Memory Mausoleum in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Bethany Baptist Church, 600 Old Hollow Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
