Edna Ruth Crotts

OAK RIDGE - Mrs. Edna Ruth Church Crotts, 91, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Crotts was born in Wilkes County, North Carolina on July 29, 1925 to William Albert and Bessie Eller Church. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. She was employed at Hanes Hosiery, and received several achievement awards during her employment before retiring in 1987 after 41 years with the company. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Crotts was preceded in death by her husband - William Russell Crotts, who died in 1986; three sisters - Iris Church, Melba Barnett and Alona Veneta Church; and four brothers - Ralph Church, Gwyn Church, Jimmie Gary Church, and William Cears Church. Surviving are her daughter Sandy Gravley (Danny) of Oak Ridge; sister, Doris (Clyde) Kearney of Pfafftown; twin brother, Edwin (Betty) Church; two other brothers, Bobby (Maxine) Church of Ferguson and Lloyd (Jean) Church of Wilkesboro; sister-in-law, Jolene Church of Millers Creek; brother-in-law - George Barnett of Ferguson; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 6:00 PM at Union Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Steve Roberson and Rev. Jeff Vogler officiating. Mrs. Crotts will be available for viewing at the church one hour prior to the service, and the family will receive friends following the service at The Arbor. A Graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
