Mrs. Edna Chewning Collins, 77, of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the Sticht Center. She was born July 30, 1931 in Rich Creek, Virginia to Orsen Wiley and Leona Hamblin Chewning. Surviving are two daughters, Lois Campbell of Johnson City, TN and Carolyn Jarvis and husband Roy of Jonesborough, TN; one son, Danny Collins and wife Carol of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren, Travis Collins and Philip Campbell; one brother, Earl Chewning of Pulaski, VA; and two sisters, Nellie Lou Brooks and Marthalma Pruitt and husband Bud , all of Bland, VA. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 26 at Green Hill Cemetery in Union, West Virginia with the Rev. Bob Ratliff officiating.
