Edna Atkins Long

Mrs. Edna Atkins Long passed away at Bermuda Commons, in Davie County on November 29, 2023. She was born in Marion County, South Carolina on November 21, 1934 to the late Quinton Atkins and Mary Elizabeth Seal Atkins. Edna was a member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church and worked at Forsyth Hospital as a CNA. She was preceded in death by her husband Homer Lee Long; and siblings Harold Eugene Atkins, Allison Ray Atkins, and Margaret Aileen Miller. Edna is survived by son David Dalton Long; grandsons Joseph Shane Long and David Dalton Long Jr. and their mother Brenda Kay Eason; great grandsons Joseph Ethen Long and Noah Wyatt Long; her brothers, David William Atkins and Daniel Kaye Atkins; her sister Jeanette Cook; and her loving extended family, church family, and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday December 9, 2023 at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Mary Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
