Edith Knight Stephenson

Mrs. Edith Knight Stephenson 89, of Winston Salem passed away March 2, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born September 26, 1925, in Lee County to William Lonnie and Lulu Thomas Knight, Sr. She was a faithful member of Forsyth Park Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was a star athlete in baseball and softball. Mrs. Stephenson was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Stephenson, three sisters, Flossie and Ada McFarland and Patsy Howard, as well as two brothers Hubert Floyd, and Fred Knight. Surviving are one son William ""Tony"" Stephenson and wife Ruby of Winston Salem, and one brother William ""Doug"" Lonnie Knight and wife Betty of Winston Salem. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday March 5, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Forsyth Park Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Southern officiating, burial will follow Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Lee Memory Gardens in Sanford, N.C.
