Edith Steelman Sparks

PfafftownEdith Steelman Sparks, 103, passed away at Vienna Village Assisted Living. She was born April 21, 1909 in Yadkin County to the late Thomas A. and Ollie Hoots Steelman. Mrs. Sparks was the oldest living member of Enon Baptist Church. Preceding her in death was her husband, Dewitt T. Sparks; five brothers and four sisters. Surviving is her sister, Josephine Brown and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, February 1, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel with Rev. Mark Elmore officiating. Burial will follow the service at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Vienna Village for the wonderful care they provided to Mrs. Sparks. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Enon Baptist Church Building Fund, 6321 Old Highway 421, East Bend, NC 27018.
