Belews Creek-Edith Linville Preston, 80, after suffering from dementia and declining health for many years passed peacefully from this life on July 20, 2010 to her new home ""not made with hands eternal in the heavens"". She was the daughter of the late Henry F. and Irene Fulp Linville. Edith was a long time active member and Sunday School teacher at Goodwill Baptist Church. In her last years she was a resident of Bradford Village East in Kernersville. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dewey M. Linville, Sr., Conrad Linville; and one infant sister, Delphene. Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Thomas G. Preston, Jr. of the home; two daughters, Carolyn Dodson and husband, Michael, of Belews Creek, Linda Whicker and husband, Denis of Walkertown; two granddaughters, Jennifer Dodson of Kernersville, Melissa Mitchell of Pinnacle; and one sister, Opal Linville of Belews Creek. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Greg Mullis officiating. Entombment will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at the funeral home.
